The Wild’s season is all but over, as a winning streak is followed by a losing streak, then followed by a smaller win streak, followed by another losing streak and so on. Nothing went right for the Wild this past week, and they didn’t deserve anything to go right. 9 shots on goal at home against the Florida Panthers was historic, and rendered your host nearly speechless. We also get a little into the Houston Aeros and the NHL playoff race.

The Wild made news twice, with the signing of Marek Zidlicky to a three year 12 million dollar deal, and the trading of Eric Belanger to the Washington Capitals for a second round pick. The local club also went into Saddledome, and hammered the badly cooling Flames 4-0.

The Wild go 1-1 this past week, and will end up .500 for the month of February as they lose AT HOME to the Atlanta Thrashers. The good news however, is that the Wild have somehow figured out Roberto Luongo and the Vancouver Canucks in a big way of late. We also get into Pierre Marc-Bouchard and his long recovery from concussion junction.

With Backstrom sick, Harding’s sore hip goes from hurt to injured, leaving the Wild to their third and fourth options in net. Anton Kudobin, the fourth option looks better then Wade Dubielewicz (third option).

Joey discusses what a difference a week can make, the Wild goaltending

The third period has been the Wild’s calling card, the problem is, the local club continues to fall behind by significant margins going into that third period. The Wild has become dependent on comebacks, rather then starting out strong, and its been their Achilles heal most of the year. We also get into Burns’ return and Sykora’s impending departure.
